Looking Unto Jesus
Hebrews 12:1-2
1. Wherefore seeing we
also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside
every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with
patience the race that is set before us,
2. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that
was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at
the right hand of the throne of God.
The Word of God reminds us that we need to set aside the “agony” of bearing the cross. We are so easily distracted by other things and sin so often creeps in and gets us off track in our Christian walk. We need to look unto Jesus, “fixing ones eyes trustingly”, instead of on our own circumstances all the time. Jesus gladly endured to the finish, to the cross, for us. He endured gladly because he knew His sacrifice on the cross would allow a way for us to reconcile with God. Jesus now sits on the right hand of the throne of God and awaits His people. Glory to God!!
Do you know Jesus died for you, John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. Jesus death, burial and resurrection created away for you, a sinner, to reconcile with a holy God. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. You need to call on Jesus today to save you from sin and come into your heart. You can then be reconciled with God and Jesus will be waiting. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
